REIMS LIEU DE SACRE DES ROIS DE FRANCE
Cité des sacres et ville de Champagne, Reims est une cité au passé glorieux. Deux périodes sont particulièrement importantes dans l'histoire de la ville, au Vème siècle, l'Eglise s'installe à Reims, ou une première cathédrale est édifiée, aujourd'hui « Cathédrale Notre-Dame » qui deviendra le lieu de sacre des rois de France après le couronnement de Clovis en 498. Le sacre le plus mémorable reste celui du dauphin Charles VII, conduit à Reims par Jeanne d'Arc le 17 juillet 1429 après la levée du siège d'Orléans.
